Senior IT Infrastructure & Systems Specialist
Edmonton, AB | Full-Time | Flexible Hours & Travel Required
We are seeking a highly specialized Senior IT Infrastructure & Systems Specialist with a rare blend of expertise across IT support, advanced networking, AV-over-IP systems, global customer platforms, and enterprise workflow optimization. This role requires a uniquely diverse background spanning municipal IT, crypto technology, beta testing programs, AV system design, and veterinary clinical systems.
What You’ll Do
- Provide advanced IT support across hardware, software, networking, and cloud platforms.
- Manage Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and multi-site network environments.
- Configure Ubiquiti UniFi, Cisco switches, VLANs, routing, and VPNs.
- Support Q-SYS AV-over-IP systems, audio/video routing, and VoIP integration.
- Perform fiber installation, termination, and OTDR testing.
- Use Fluke tools (DSX, CertiFiber, LinkRunner) to certify enterprise cabling.
- Support clinic lab systems and have an understanding of clinic workflows.
- Analyze multi-system platforms (15–20 windows at once) including financial and blockchain environments.
- Document processes, create SOPs, and provide cross-functional support.
Required Experience
Candidates must meet all of the following:
- 8+ years of technical support experience in enterprise or government environments
- Hands-on experience with municipal IT support
- Experience supporting cryptocurrency trading platforms
- Q-SYS Level 1 certification with real-world deployment experience
- Advanced Ubiquiti UniFi & Cisco networking expertise
- Fiber installation & OTDR testing experience
- Proficiency with Fluke certification tools
- Experience supporting clinical lab systems
- Background in beta testing, QA/QS, and community engagement
- Strong data analysis, documentation, and workflow optimization skills
- Multilingual communication skills (Fluent English minimum)
Work Hours & Travel Requirements
- Must be available to work anytime, including overnight shifts, evenings, and weekends.
- Must be able to travel frequently and be away from home for extended periods.
- Must have Canadian Valid Driver's License and own vehicle
